Statement of Faith

The foundation of our beliefs and the calling of our church

Our Foundation

We base our existence on Jesus' words from Matthew 22:37-39: "you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all you mind! This is the first and greatest commandment." Secondly, and equally as important: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

We believe that three things will last forever – faith, hope and love and the greatest of these is Love. (1 Corinthians 13:13).

We know that God loved this world so much in that He gave up His only Son (Jesus Christ) as a sacrifice for us all, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have an everlasting life with Him in His Kingdom. (John 3:16)

Lampasas Community Church is a body of believers who welcome all who seek a Christian fellowship and a warm and welcoming atmosphere where the Love of God is present. God does not put any expectations on those who come and neither do we. We all are accepted by God just as we are.

Our Purpose

More particularly, Lampasas Community Church also exists for the following purposes:

  • To promote the Christian Gospel by any appropriate form of expression, within any available medium, and in any location, through the Church's combined or separate formation, of a church ministry, charity or school.
  • To engage in religious worship in an orderly and reverent manner and to promote the spiritual development and well-being of individuals.
  • To maintain the public worship of God and the observance of the Church's ordinances.
  • To the study of Christian doctrines and principles and the practice of the Christian life as revealed and taught in the Bible.
  • To seek the salvation of the lost at home and abroad.
  • To promote the advancement of God's kingdom in all the earth, through missions at home and abroad and in other work to accomplish this purpose.
  • To ordain, encourage and lift up in prayer ministers of the Gospel, and others who conduct and pursue Christian purposes at the place of worship of the Church, and elsewhere.
  • To collect and disburse any and all necessary funds for the maintenance of Community Church and the accomplishment of its purposes including gifting of aid to those individuals both in and outside Community Church as needed.

What We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inerrant, authoritative Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and our supreme guide for faith and conduct.

The Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-equal in power and glory.

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. He is fully God and fully man, co-equal with the Father, and all things were created by Him and for Him.

Virgin Birth of Jesus

We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ through the action of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and that He was without sin.

Resurrection of Jesus Christ

We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, that He appeared to His disciples, and returned to the Father in heaven.

Redemption through Christ

We believe Christ died willingly in the place of sinners to redeem this fallen world, and through His atoning blood became the only mediator between God and man.

Regeneration by the Holy Spirit

We believe that through the Holy Spirit, a person is regenerated and transformed into the likeness of Christ.

Salvation by Grace through Faith

We believe that by accepting Christ's salvation through faith, a person is justified, and receives forgiveness of sin and eternal life. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

Sanctification

We believe in the ongoing spiritual development and growth of believers as they are conformed to the image of Christ.

Jesus' Blood

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ is the perfect sacrifice for sin, providing cleansing and redemption for all who believe.

Jesus Christ Dwells in All Believers

We believe that through the Person of the Holy Spirit, Christ dwells in the lives of those who receive Him, empowering them to live godly lives.

Baptism with the Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism with the Holy Spirit, which empowers believers for service and witness.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as described in Scripture, given to believers for the edification of the church and service to others.

The Church

We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and all regenerate persons are members, both in its universal expression and in local congregations.

Priesthood of the Believer

We believe in the priesthood of all believers, that every Christian has direct access to God through Christ and is called to minister in His name.

Two Ordinances of the Church

We believe in two ordinances established by Christ for the church: Water Baptism as an outward expression of faith, and the Lord's Supper (Communion) as a remembrance of Christ's sacrifice.

Marriage and Sexuality

We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman as ordained by God, and that sexual intimacy is designed by God to be expressed exclusively within this marriage covenant.

Heaven and Hell

We believe in the reality of heaven and hell, in the eternal blessedness of the saved in heaven, and in the eternal conscious punishment of the lost in hell.

Second Coming of Jesus Christ

We believe in the personal, bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth to deliver just judgment and to bring all things to completion at the appointed time.
